Thinking ahead here and being nosey- what christmas traditions do you have in your family? I want to make sure we have a few things we do as a family annually for my kids to remember and am looking for ideas.

Mince pie and port (santa doesn't like sherry in our household..)for Santa plus a carrot for Rudolph.

Presents on Christmas morning, round the tree with a stocking in addition for each of us.

I'm ashamed to say that I have never thought about leaving something out for Rudolph et al. Maybe that's why Santa hasn't been coming down the chimney. Mind you the fire going could have something to do with it.

I quite like what they do down here with the Santa's climbing up the outside of the houses. My OH stuck a pair of dangling Santa trousers to the ceiling last year. Didn't do much for the decor but it was funny.
I still like putting up loads of lights outside the villa and up the pine trees.

Linda.
Crazy in love with my slob.

Something you could do if you are near to France is to drive through Menton and go to Monaco. Menton has some Nice lights and Monaco over Christmas is marvelous.
They normally have some fantastic lights, especially in Casino square and they have the Christmas fair and Christmas market.

We buy a new christmas decoration every year for the tree. Bucks fizz on Christmas morning. And now my son is old enough to have some understanding we will start to repeat one from my childhood- a piece of red cloth from santa's outfit which he tears on his way out and leaves hung on some sharp angle. Ii loved this as a child and never once questioned the fact the the piece of material was suspiciously similar year on year.
